An Introduction

Hallo!

As the first entry into this blog, I'm not positive of its intention other than to be a central location for family and friends to know what the hell Travis and I are up to as we venture forth into our new life (not "trip" - never "trip," please and thank you).

I've tried writing this post about 6 times now, starting two months ago, when it seemed so very far away. Now, one week from our launch date, I find myself freaking out a little bit. Um, what did we just do? Why did we sell everything we own? Why did we leave the peaceful existence of Portland? Why did we decide to not live in one, single place like non-insane human beings? WTF ARE WE GETTING OURSELVES INTO?

But then I remember that one year's worth of planning and selling and gathering and moving and waiting is about to lead us into the exact thing we want to do more than anything in this world, and this is precisely the life we have chosen. Yes, I'm nervous. Yes, I'm going to miss my family. Yes, we might come running back to America screaming (doubtful). But yes, Travis and I had a vision for what we want with our life and we did every. single. thing. to make that vision a reality. And for that, I'm really proud of us.

So, with all of that being said, here is where friends and family can get an insight into where we are, how we're doing and what we're seeing. I'm not going to lie, this will not be updated frequently. But! When it is, hopefully it will give you guys some happiness at knowing that a) we're not dead, b) we're generally enjoying ourselves, working hard, seeing amazing things, meeting new people, most likely getting lost, and c) we're not dead.
